Silly Bunny

This morning a bunny rabbit almost threw itself under my car.  Why would you do that silly fur ball?  Yes, I swerve for animals; I cried when I hit a squirrel (I was sad for it's squirrel loved ones that will miss it) and I name the adorable animals I see on my runs everyday, but none of this is the point.  What is the point?

Well, this suicidal bunny got me thinking.  How many times in our life do we 'throw ourselves in front of a car'?  I don't mean literally of course, if you are literally throwing yourself in front of a car please get help as there is something not quite right with you.

As adults, it is presumed that we know right from wrong, that while we are in a situation we know what is going on and that we know what we SHOULD do.  How often do we embrace our inner child in the wrong way and  do what we shouldn't just to prove we still can come out 'alive'?  I will even go so far as to say that half the time I don't think we even realize we are doing it, it's just that inner child.

Oh - and if you know me at all you know I love my inner child.  She is what keeps me going on those rough days, long runs, thunderstorms, whatever.  Embrace the inner child, just not the inner devil child - at least not in traffic.
